DRAUPNIR In Norse mythology, Draupnir is the magic ring of Odin. It was forged by the dwarf Sindri as one of three gifts for the gods. The second gift was Mjölnir, the hammer for Thor, and the third one Freyr´s golden boar Gullinbursti. Draupnir multiplies itself every ninth night by dripping eight new rings. Odin laid the ring upon the funeral pyre of his son Baldr. When Hermod rode the road to Hel, the realm of the dead, he retrieved the ring. Draupnir is the symbol for prosperity and plentifulness, as well as for recurrence and fertility.
